SpaceX to launch another GPS III satellite in record turnaround

SpaceX will launch a GPS III SV-08 satellite for the U.S. military on May 30th from Cape Canaveral. Originally assigned to United Launch Alliance (ULA), the mission shifted to SpaceX to expedite deployment of advanced anti-jamming capabilities. The launch, completed in an unusually short timeframe, addresses growing threats to GPS signals from nation-state actors and commercial interference. The GPS III satellites offer significantly improved anti-jamming capabilities and broadcast M-code (military-only) and L5 (civilian) signals. This rapid launch highlights the flexibility built into the GPS III program, offering lessons for future national security space missions.
