'Black Panther' Video Game Canceled at Electronic Arts, Layoffs

Electronic Arts (EA) has canceled its upcoming "Black Panther" video game and closed the game's developer, Cliffhanger Games, resulting in layoffs. This is EA's third round of layoffs this year, following cuts in April. EA's president cited a need to focus on its biggest franchises, like EA Sports and "The Sims," rather than licensed titles. While the exact number of affected employees remains undisclosed, it's less than the 300 laid off last month. EA is reportedly assisting employees in finding new roles within the company.
