JWST Reveals Deepest View of Distant Galaxies

Read, Watch or Listen

The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has captured a stunning image of galaxy cluster Abell S1063, 4.5 billion light-years away. Abell S1063's immense mass acts as a gravitational lens, warping light from even more distant galaxies. JWST's NIRCam, using a 120-hour exposure across nine wavelengths, revealed previously unseen faint galaxies, providing the deepest image of a single target to date. This deep field image offers insights into the early universe.
