A powerful explosion at the Gaomi Youdao Chemical Co. plant in eastern China's Shandong province killed at least five people, injured 19, and left six missing. The blast, which occurred around noon Tuesday, was felt miles away, shattering windows in a nearby warehouse. The plant manufactures pesticides and medical chemicals and employs over 500 people. Over 230 firefighters responded to the scene.
