Five skiers were found dead near Zermatt, Switzerland, after climbers discovered abandoned skis on the Rimpfischhorn mountain. A helicopter located the bodies, three on an avalanche cone and two higher up. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of death. The incident follows heavy snowfall and avalanches in the region last month, which temporarily closed roads and impacted access to Zermatt.
