Iranian director Jafar Panahi's 'It Was Just An Accident' wins Palme d'Or at Cannes

Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi's 'It Was Just An Accident' won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. The film is a critique of oppression in Iran, where Panahi has faced repeated arrests and imprisonment for his outspoken views. This is his first Cannes appearance in over two decades. In his acceptance speech, Panahi dedicated the award to exiled Iranian artists, hoping for their return. Other awards included Best Actress (Nadia Melliti) and Best Actor (Wagner Moura). The festival faced a power outage earlier in the day, currently under police investigation.
