Boeing avoids prosecution in 737 Max crash case

Read, Watch or Listen

The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced a deal with Boeing to drop criminal charges related to two fatal 737 MAX crashes that killed 346 people. This follows a previous rejected plea deal. The agreement includes over $1.1 billion in payments, including a crash victims' fund, and an admission of wrongdoing. While some victims' families support the deal, others strongly oppose it, criticizing the DOJ for failing to hold Boeing fully accountable and setting a dangerous precedent. Boeing will also have an independent compliance consultant overseeing its operations.
