Lebanese and Palestinian leaders agree that Lebanon won't be used as a launchpad to strike Israel

Lebanese and Palestinian presidents agreed that Palestinian factions will not use Lebanon to attack Israel and will remove weapons not under Lebanese control. The agreement follows a recent escalation of Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon in response to alleged Hamas rocket fire. The removal of weapons from Palestinian refugee camps, which are not under Lebanese state control, remains a significant challenge. This agreement aims to prevent further conflict and establish Lebanese authority in the region, particularly in the south near the Israeli border.
