Former Ukrainian politician Andriy Portnov, a senior aide to pro-Russian ex-President Viktor Yanukovych, was fatally shot near Madrid. The 51-year-old was shot multiple times while entering his car. Spanish police are investigating the incident, which occurred outside The American School of Madrid. Portnov, sanctioned by the US for corruption, fled Ukraine after Russia's invasion in 2022. His death follows other killings of Yanukovych allies after the 2014 Maidan protests.
