U.S. sends 68 voluntary deportees back to Honduras and Colombia : NPR

The U.S. initiated its first voluntary deportation program, flying 68 migrants back to Honduras and Colombia. The program offers financial assistance ($1000 debit cards) and the potential for future legal entry to those who self-deport. While the Trump administration aims to increase deportations, experts believe the program's appeal will be limited. The Honduran government is providing additional support to returning citizens. Despite the program, the number of Honduran deportations this year remains lower than in 2024.
