First ‘self-deportation’ flight from US lands in Honduras - with US citizen children aboard

The first flight under a new US Department of Homeland Security initiative, Project Homecoming, has successfully transported 64 self-deporting migrants to Honduras and Colombia. Migrants, who applied via a mobile app, received $1,000 stipends and free flights. The program aims to reduce deportation costs and offers a 'dignified' return option. The flight carrying 38 Hondurans, including children born in the US and Mexico, landed in Honduras. The initiative is part of a larger $200 million campaign encouraging undocumented immigrants' voluntary departure.
