Elle Fanning will play Effie Trinket in Lionsgate's upcoming film, "The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping," directed by Francis Lawrence. This prequel, set 24 years before the original Hunger Games, focuses on the 50th Games. Fanning was chosen for her ability to honor Elizabeth Banks' iconic portrayal while bringing a fresh perspective to the younger Effie. The film, slated for a November 20, 2026 release, also stars Joseph Zada, Whitney Peak, and Ralph Fiennes as President Snow.
