Ryan Kiera Armstrong will star as the new slayer in Hulu's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" reboot, alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar, who will have a recurring role. Gellar praised Armstrong's talent and emotional intelligence. The reboot, written and executive produced by Nora and Lila Zuckerman, will be directed by Chloé Zhao. Armstrong's previous credits include "Firestarter", "Black Widow", and "Skeleton Crew". The original series' executive producers Gail Berman, Fran and Kaz Kuzui, and Dolly Parton are also involved in the reboot.
