Texas Heatwave: Early Summer Sizzler Heralds National Heatwave
Tap title to read story
A dangerous early-season heatwave is scorching parts of Texas, with record-breaking temperatures expected in Austin and San Antonio. Millions are under heat advisories, and the extreme heat poses a serious health risk, especially for vulnerable populations. This intense heat is a prelude to an abnormally hot summer predicted for much of the US, with above-average temperatures likely across the Lower 48 states, Alaska, and Hawaii. Climate change is exacerbating the frequency and severity of these extreme heat events, making such temperatures significantly more probable.
