Marvel's "Thunderbolts" and Ryan Coogler's "Sinners" continued their box office dominance, earning $33.1 million and $21.1 million respectively in their latest weekends. Despite new releases including a horror film and action movies starring Kerry Washington and Josh Hartnett, neither "Thunderbolts" nor "Sinners" faced significant competition. "Thunderbolts" is already the fourth highest-grossing film of the year globally, while "Sinners" surpassed $200 million domestically. The overall box office is up 16% year-to-date compared to last year, boosted by these films and "A Minecraft Movie", which added another $8 million this weekend.
