How to see a doomed Soviet-era satellite reentering Earth’s atmosphere

The 53-year-old Soviet spacecraft Kosmos 482, launched in 1972, is expected to re-enter Earth's atmosphere this Friday or Saturday. Due to a malfunction, it failed to reach Venus and has been orbiting Earth since. Satellite expert Marco Langbroek predicts the re-entry. Observers may witness a bright meteor-like event using binoculars, though a water landing is most likely. The Heavens Above website provides updates on visibility.
