DOJ seeks forced breakup of Google digital ad businesses to 'terminate' monopolies

The Justice Department is pushing for Google to divest two digital advertising businesses, Ad Exchange and its publisher ad server, following a federal judge's ruling that Google holds an illegal monopoly. The DOJ argues this is necessary to restore competition. Google, however, contends the proposed remedies are excessive and could harm advertisers and publishers. A September trial will determine the final remedies, potentially impacting a significant portion of Google's revenue. This action follows another DOJ case seeking the breakup of Google's search business.
