Google is rolling out its AI Mode search tool to a limited number of US users in the coming weeks. Unlike traditional search, AI Mode provides AI-generated answers directly, drawing on Google's search index. This new tab, preceding other search options, competes with similar offerings from Perplexity and OpenAI. Google has removed the waitlist for Labs users, and AI Mode includes updates such as saved search history and visual cards for products and places.
