Huge underwater volcano off major US coast is set up erupt 'any day' as top scientists issue chilling warning

Scientists warn that the Axial Seamount, the most active volcano in the Pacific Northwest, could erupt any day. Located 300 miles off Oregon's coast, this underwater volcano shows signs of imminent eruption, including seafloor inflation mirroring pre-2015 eruption levels. While posing no threat to human communities due to its depth and distance, the eruption presents a valuable research opportunity to monitor and better understand submarine volcanic activity. Previous eruptions occurred in 1998, 2011, and 2015, with scientists predicting this event based on observed inflation and increased seismic activity.
