Ronan, a 15-year-old California sea lion, has proven her exceptional rhythmic abilities, surpassing even humans in beat-keeping skills. A new study published in Scientific Reports shows Ronan's rhythmic entrainment has improved significantly since her initial testing in 2013. This research confirms that humans aren't unique in their ability to maintain a beat, as other mammals, like monkeys and rats, also exhibit similar capabilities, although Ronan remains the most proficient nonhuman example.
