Measles cases in Texas rise to 663 amid outbreaks in other US states

Texas reports 663 measles cases, a rise of 17 since April 25th, with 396 cases concentrated in Gaines County. Eighty-seven patients have been hospitalized, and two unvaccinated children have died. The increase, while slowing, is concerning health officials, who attribute the outbreak to low vaccination rates and misinformation. Other states are also experiencing outbreaks, pushing the national case count towards 900, triple the 2024 total. Experts emphasize vaccination as the most effective prevention.
