Joseph Kosinski, director of "Top Gun: Maverick," will helm a remake of the 1980s TV series "Miami Vice" for Universal Pictures. Dan Gilroy is adapting the screenplay. The film, based on the iconic show starring Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas, will be produced by Kosinski's Monolith and Dylan Clark Productions. While plot details remain under wraps, the project aims to revitalize the "Miami Vice" franchise after the 2006 film's box office disappointment. Casting is yet to be announced.
