Vaccinated adult in Colorado infected with measles

Colorado reported its fifth measles case, the first in a vaccinated individual. The adult, recently returned from Chihuahua, Mexico, where a measles outbreak is occurring, visited a Lakewood urgent care clinic on April 19th. Public health officials advise anyone at the clinic between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to monitor for symptoms. While unusual, breakthrough infections in vaccinated individuals are possible due to vaccine efficacy not being 100%. The state is working on faster reporting of suspected cases.
