Pope Francis passed away at the Vatican on Monday morning after suffering a stroke. His doctor, Sergio Alfieri, found him unresponsive but breathing normally. Alfieri stated that the Pope did not respond to stimuli and was in a coma. Due to the risk involved in moving him, the decision was made to let him pass peacefully at home, as he had wished. A state funeral is planned for Saturday.
