Tesla Q1 Falls Far Short, Musk to Scale Back DOGE Involvement

Tesla's Q1 2025 earnings significantly missed expectations, with net income down 71% to $409 million and revenue falling 9% to $19.34 billion. Elon Musk attributed the shortfall partly to production losses during Model Y updates and negative publicity stemming from his increased involvement in DOGE and his alliance with President Trump. Musk announced he'll significantly reduce his time with DOGE, focusing more on Tesla. Despite the setbacks, Musk remains optimistic about Tesla's long-term prospects, particularly with its autonomous vehicles and humanoid robots. Analysts, however, believe Musk's actions caused significant and potentially permanent brand damage.
