The April Lyrids meteor shower peaks on the night of April 21st and continues until April 28th. Observers in dark locations can expect to see around a dozen meteors per hour, with potential for outbursts of up to 100. The shower originates from debris from Comet Thatcher. No special equipment is needed; simply find a dark location with a clear view of the sky, preferably after midnight. Even city dwellers may see the brightest meteors.
