The Lyrid meteor shower, peaking Tuesday morning, will offer about six meteors per hour, according to the Bell Museum. While past Lyrids have shown up to 100 meteors hourly, this year's display will be less active. The waning crescent moon provides decent viewing conditions under clear, dark skies. Viewing is possible until April 26th. To maximize your viewing experience, find a location away from city lights during the early predawn hours. The next major shower, the Eta Aquarids, peaks in early May.
