Rheinmetall: Shell Output at New Lower Saxony Factory Will Almost Double Corporate Plan

Rheinmetall, Germany's largest arms manufacturer, will nearly double its artillery shell production to 350,000 155mm shells annually by 2026 due to high demand fueled by the Russo-Ukraine War. A new facility in Unterlüß, Germany, will boost output, alongside existing plants in Spain and future facilities in Eastern Europe. This surge in production, reaching potentially 1.7 million shells annually, makes Rheinmetall crucial in countering Russia's artillery advantage. The company's sales and profits have also significantly increased, reflecting the global demand for munitions.
