The Lyrid meteor shower, one of the oldest known, will peak around April 21-22. This annual event, caused by debris from Comet Thatcher, offers a dazzling display of shooting stars visible to the naked eye. For optimal viewing, find a location with a dark, clear sky and allow your eyes to adjust to the darkness. The shower coincides with the Eta Aquariids meteor shower, peaking in early May.
