Amazon's Prime Video has secured the rights to develop a "Pacific Rim" prequel series. The live-action show, penned by Eric Heisserer, will expand on the popular monster-fighting franchise. Legendary Television and Amazon MGM Studios are collaborating on the project, which is Heisserer's first under his Chronology banner's deal with Legendary. The series follows previous "Pacific Rim" installments, including films and an anime series, and leaves open the possibility of future films within the franchise.
