Judge finds Google holds illegal online ad tech monopolies

A U.S. judge ruled that Google illegally monopolizes online advertising technology markets, specifically publisher ad servers and ad exchanges. The decision, following a similar ruling on online search, could lead to the breakup of Google's advertising products. Judge Leonie Brinkema found Google liable for maintaining monopoly power, harming competition and consumers. Google plans to appeal the ruling, arguing that publishers choose their tools for their effectiveness and affordability. While the DOJ suggests selling off Google Ad Manager, experts predict minimal financial impact for Google.
