Item in millions of bedrooms could cause brain damage during sleep... as experts warn to throw it out NOW

Canadian researchers found children's mattresses contain high levels of toxic flame retardants and phthalates, linked to brain damage and cancer. These chemicals, detected in bedrooms, were highest near beds. A study of 16 new mattresses confirmed they were the primary source. Children's vulnerability stems from their developing bodies and higher breathing rates. Simulating a child sleeping increased chemical emissions. Researchers urge manufacturers to use safer materials and call for stronger regulations, advising parents to minimize toxins in children's sleep environments.
