Records show Gene Hackman's wife researched symptoms of illness before death

Authorities released an investigation report detailing the final days of Gene Hackman's wife, Betsy Arakawa, who died of hantavirus. Her internet searches showed she'd researched flu-like symptoms and breathing techniques before her death in February. Hackman, 95, was found dead a week later from heart disease and Alzheimer's complications. Their partially mummified remains were discovered in their Santa Fe home. The report included Arakawa's medical searches, phone calls, and redacted body camera footage from the scene, showing the home's interior and the locations of the bodies. A court order mandated the release of the report with images of the deceased obscured.
