Trump tariff deals coming, not recession: Hassett

White House economic advisor Kevin Hassett reported that over 10 countries have offered trade deals to the U.S. following President Trump's tariffs. Hassett dismissed recession concerns, stating a downturn is '100% not' likely in 2025, despite a CEO survey indicating otherwise. He attributed positive economic indicators to reshoring and consumer buying spurred by tariff anxieties. The administration is considering whether to accept trade offers individually or as a package. Trump's recent tariff actions, including a temporary reduction and subsequent conflicting statements, sparked speculation of market manipulation.
