The wing tip of an American Airlines plane strikes another aircraft at a DC airport

An American Airlines plane's wingtip collided with another American Airlines plane on a Washington, D.C. taxiway Thursday. The incident, investigated by the FAA, involved a Charleston-bound plane striking a stationary New York-bound plane. No injuries were reported, though both planes sustained minor wing damage and were taken out of service for inspection. Passengers were transferred to replacement aircraft. The incident follows a fatal helicopter crash at the same airport in January, raising concerns about aviation safety.
