Two American Airlines jets clip wings on runway at Reagan airport

Two American Airlines jets, one carrying two members of Congress, experienced a minor wingtip collision on the runway at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on Thursday. No injuries were reported. The FAA is investigating the incident, which occurred just three months after a fatal helicopter-airplane collision at the same airport. Both planes returned to the gate, and damage was limited to wingtips. American Airlines apologized for the incident and confirmed that both aircraft are undergoing inspections.
