A nearly complete Denisovan jawbone, the most complete genetically identified Denisovan fossil to date, has been unearthed in the Penghu Channel off Taiwan. The male individual, who lived at least 10,000 years ago, possessed a robust jaw and large molars. Protein analysis confirmed its Denisovan origin, expanding the known geographic range of this ancient human species, which adapted to diverse environments from Siberia to Southeast Asia. The discovery further supports the potential connection between Denisovans and *Homo longi*. The research is published in Science.
