Hamas says it will delay hostage handover, after Israeli prime minister orders ‘immediate, powerful’ military strikes in Gaza
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the Israeli military to launch "immediate, powerful" strikes in Gaza, his office said. Earlier, the Prime Minister's Office accused Hamas of a "clear violation" of the Gaza ceasefire after remains returned to Israel did not match any of the 13 hostages still unaccounted for. The Al-Qassam Brigades then said it would postpone handing over a recovered hostage's body, citing Israeli "violations." An Israeli military official told CNN that Hamas attacked IDF troops in an area under Israeli control east of the yellow line, which marks the Israeli withdrawal point under the US-brokered ceasefire.
