YouTube has settled a lawsuit with former President Donald Trump and other plaintiffs for $24.5 million, following his 2021 suspension. The agreement will see $22 million fund the construction of a White House State Ballroom via a tax-exempt trust, with the remaining $2.5 million allocated to other plaintiffs. This settlement, which does not admit liability, resolves claims that Trump's suspension violated his free speech rights. YouTube, owned by Google, had suspended Trump's account after the January 6th Capitol attack, citing policy violations regarding incitement of violence, but later reinstated his channel.
