Man from India accused of stabbing 2 teenagers with fork during an international flight

Authorities say a Lufthansa flight from Chicago to Frankfurt diverted to Boston after passenger Praneeth Kumar Usiripalli, 28, allegedly stabbed two 17-year-olds with a fork, slapped a female passenger and a crew member, and mimed shooting himself. Prosecutors say one teen’s thick sweatshirt deflected a clavicle jab; the other suffered a head laceration. Usiripalli, from India, was arrested and charged with one count of assault with a dangerous weapon. Officials said he lacks lawful immigration status and was enrolled in a master’s program at Moody Theological Seminary in Chicago. No attorney was listed Tuesday.
