DOJ Whistleblower Alleges Defiance of Court Orders

Erez Reuveni, a longtime Justice Department immigration attorney, says he was fired after refusing to advance what he calls false claims and after witnessing colleagues mislead a judge as Venezuelan detainees were flown out despite a court order. He describes a meeting where senior official Emil Bove stressed deportation flights must depart no matter what. Officials deny his allegations. Courts later criticized government conduct; the Supreme Court unanimously said the detainees were entitled to hearings. Reuveni has filed a whistleblower disclosure, saying speaking up cost him his dream career.
