Trump Orders Immediate Resumption of Nuclear Testing

In Gyeongju, South Korea, President Donald Trump said he has directed the Pentagon to “immediately” resume U.S. nuclear weapons testing, writing on Truth Social that the “Department of War” would begin testing on an equal basis with other countries ahead of his meeting with China’s Xi Jinping. The United States has not conducted nuclear explosive tests since 1992, though it can do so at the Nevada National Security Site. Russia announced a test of a nuclear-powered underwater weapon and recently tested a nuclear-capable missile. NBC News reported Trump sought a nearly tenfold arsenal increase during his first term.
