Trump intends to fire US attorney who didn’t charge political enemy Letitia James with mortgage fraud

President Trump plans to fire US Attorney Erik Siebert, who faced pressure to charge New York Attorney General Letitia James with mortgage fraud. Sources say Siebert hasn't been officially notified. The Justice Department in Virginia previously concluded insufficient evidence existed to indict James, who won a fraud case against Trump. Siebert's office and the Justice Department declined comment. Siebert, a Trump appointee, has overseen the Eastern District of Virginia since January.
