Court Temporarily Lifts Portland National Guard Deployment Ban

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has temporarily lifted a lower court's block on deploying Oregon National Guard troops to Portland. This administrative stay, however, does not affect a broader order prohibiting any state's National Guard from entering the city. The court stayed the order to maintain the status quo while it deliberates on the legal arguments, having not yet assessed the merits of the case.
