After a sputtering start, Kansas City leaned on Travis Kelce to pull away from Washington, 28-7, on Monday night. A first-half Patrick Mahomes pass glanced off Kelce’s hands to Commanders linebacker Bobby Wagner for one of two Washington interceptions, and the game sat 7-7 at halftime. Kelce answered with a 38-yard catch to set up the go-ahead score, then a leaping 10-yard touchdown for a 21-7 lead, his 83rd, tying Priest Holmes for the franchise mark. He finished with six catches and a season-high 99 yards, later calling himself an “old, lucky dog” at Arrowhead.
