'Tragedy' averted at Atlanta airport: Police

Atlanta police arrested Billy Cagle, 49, at Hartsfield-Jackson after his family reported he was streaming on social media about intent to "shoot up" the airport. Officers say he entered the south terminal, scanned the TSA area, and was detained at 9:54 a.m.; an AR-15 with 27 rounds was found in his pickup outside. Cagle, a felon with mental health challenges, faces charges including terroristic threats and criminal attempt to commit aggravated assaults. Authorities credit the family’s warning and joint law enforcement response with averting tragedy. The FBI is assisting; Homeland Security’s Kristi Noem and Mayor Dickens praised the outcome.
