Suspects arrested over brazen jewel theft from Paris’ Louvre museum

Police in Paris have arrested suspects over the Louvre jewel heist, stopping one man at Roissy airport as he prepared to leave, prosecutors said. BFMTV reported two detainees and at least two suspects still at large; authorities have not confirmed the number arrested or any jewel recovery. The seven-minute raid targeted the Apollo Gallery housing the French Crown Jewels: thieves used a truck-mounted ladder, broke two high-security cases, and took nine pieces worth an estimated €88 million. About 100 investigators are on the case, as officials admit security failings and the museum’s director calls it a terrible failure.
