Record Migrant Crossing Follows Channel Death

A record 125 migrants crossed the Channel in a single boat on Saturday, part of 895 crossings in 12 boats that day. This follows another migrant death discovered on Sunday morning near Boulogne-sur-Mer. Despite increased resources and UK-French cooperation, crossings continue, with at least 27 deaths this year. Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood vowed to combat people-smugglers and restore order to the immigration system amidst mounting pressure.
