In a 30-17 Chiefs win at Arrowhead, tempers flared postgame when Lions safety Brian Branch punched JuJu Smith-Schuster after brushing past Patrick Mahomes' offered high-five, briefly igniting a midfield scrum. Branch, who played through an ankle injury, later called the punch "childish." Smith-Schuster said he expected a handshake. Coaches separated players; Lions coach Dan Campbell called the act "inexcusable" and apologized to Andy Reid and Smith-Schuster. The defeat ended Detroit's four-game streak as the defense yielded 355 yards and just one punt. Jared Goff threw for 203 yards; Amon-Ra St. Brown was held to 45.
