Arrest Made Over Threats to Benny Johnson

Attorney General Pam Bondi announced the arrest of George Isbell Jr., accused of mailing a death threat to podcaster Benny Johnson days after the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Isbell was taken into custody Oct. 7 in San Diego and federally charged with mailing a threatening communication, carrying a maximum five-year sentence. U.S. Attorney Greg Kehoe said the letter threatened Johnson’s “extermination” and that he should be “strangled by an American flag.” Bondi condemned political violence at a Tampa news conference; FBI Director Kash Patel vowed continued enforcement.
